I am grieving a loss
Grief is love with nowhere to go. Jesus wept at a friend's grave. You do not have to hurry through this.
What God's word says
18The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
4Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
33When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews weeping who came with her, he groaned in the spirit and was troubled, 34and said, “Where have you laid him?” They told him, “Lord, come and see.” 35Jesus wept. 36The Jews therefore said, “See how much affection he had for him!”
3I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with people; and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain any more. The first things have passed away.”
3He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.
