Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of maranatha.com, a service operated by Aspir Technologies, doing business as Maranatha ("Maranatha," "we," "us"). By using the site you agree to them.

What Maranatha is

Maranatha offers faith resources for individuals (guides, a Bible reader, a way to ask questions and request prayer, a daily devotional, and introductions to churches) and a website and tools platform for churches. Maranatha is a service of a for-profit company. It is not a church, it does not hold services, and it is not a charity. Partner churches are independent organizations.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the one-to-one services (questions, prayer requests, and introductions) and to open an account. Church accounts must be opened by an authorized representative of the church.

Acceptable use

Do not use the site to harass or threaten anyone, to submit false or unlawful material, to send spam, to attempt to access data that is not yours, or to disrupt the service. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.

Not a substitute for professional or emergency help

Replies from responders are offered by volunteers and staff as spiritual encouragement. They are not medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice, and they are not a substitute for professional care. Maranatha is not a crisis service and cannot respond in real time. Church responsibilities

Churches agree to keep their information accurate, to agree with our statement of faith, to treat newcomers and their information respectfully and lawfully, to follow safeguarding practices for children and vulnerable adults, and to use introductions only to contact the person about visiting. Churches are responsible for the content they publish, for their own giving receipts, and for compliance with the laws that apply to them. Churches may not sell or share newcomer information. Maranatha may suspend or remove a church that does not meet these standards.

Plans and billing

Church plans are billed through Stripe. Prices are shown on the pricing page and may change with notice. Plans include a free trial period as stated at sign-up. You can cancel at any time.

Giving

Gifts made through a church page are processed by Stripe and paid to the church. See the giving terms.

Content and scripture

Scripture quotations are from the World English Bible (WEB), which is in the public domain. "World English Bible" is a trademark of eBible.org. Content that you submit remains yours, and you give us permission to use it to operate the service.

Disclaimers and limits of liability

The service is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aspir Technologies is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars if you paid nothing.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [state to be set by owner], without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will post the new version and change the date. Continuing to use the site means you accept the update.
