Our story

Many people have questions about God and no obvious place to ask them. Many small churches have room at the table and no easy way to say so online. Maranatha exists to connect the two. We offer honest guides, a Bible reader, a way to ask questions and request prayer, and a daily devotional. We also give churches a simple website, sermons, giving and email, and we introduce newcomers to them when they are ready.

Maranatha is a service of Aspir Technologies, a for-profit company, doing business as Maranatha. We believe good tools for ministry are worth paying for, and that helping a person explore faith should be free.

What the word means

Maranatha is an ancient Aramaic prayer that means "Our Lord, come." The early Christians used it, and Paul closes his first letter to the Corinthians with it (1 Corinthians 16:22). It is a word of hope, and it is where our sunrise comes from: we are people waiting for the dawn.

What we believe

We hold to the historic, evangelical Christian faith. Scripture is authoritative, Jesus is the only Savior, and salvation is by grace through faith. We try to be warm and welcoming to everyone, and to choose charity where believers differ on secondary matters. Read the full statement of faith.

• We treat your questions with privacy and respect. Questions and prayer requests are confidential, encrypted, and seen only by the people assigned to them.
• We do not sell your information. Ever.
• Real people reply. Answers to questions and prayers are written by humans, not by artificial intelligence.
• We are not a charity, and we do not issue tax receipts. Churches issue their own.
