Giving Terms

These terms apply when you give to a church through its Maranatha page, and when you make a voluntary donation to Maranatha itself.

Where your gift to a church goes

Your gift goes to the church you select. Payments are processed by Stripe, and funds are paid to that church's own Stripe account. Maranatha never holds a gift made to a church. We do not take a percentage of gifts.

Maranatha is not a charity

Maranatha.com is a service of NeoNue, a for-profit company. It is not a charity. Maranatha does not issue tax receipts, and gifts made through Maranatha are not tax-deductible because of anything Maranatha does. Whether your gift to a church is tax-deductible depends on the church you give to and the laws that apply to you. Only the church can issue a receipt, and only if it is eligible to do so. Please contact the church, or a tax professional, with questions.

Donations to Maranatha

Maranatha accepts voluntary donations. The Bible reader, the daily devotional, prayer requests and My Walk are free to use, and a donation helps cover the cost of keeping them running. You can give once or every month on the Support Maranatha page.

• Who receives it. A donation to Maranatha is paid to NeoNue. It does not go to any church. To give to a church, use that church's own page.
• It is voluntary. A donation is not payment for anything. It does not unlock a feature or give you any special treatment.
• It is not a charitable gift. Because Maranatha is a for-profit company and not a charity, a donation to Maranatha is not tax-deductible, and Maranatha does not issue a tax receipt for it. Stripe may send you its own payment receipt.
• Fees. Stripe's processing fees are taken from the amount you give. You are not charged anything extra.
• Monthly donations. If you choose monthly, Stripe will charge you every month until you stop. To change or stop a monthly donation, write to hello@maranatha.com.
• Refunds. Donations are voluntary and are not refunded as a matter of course. If you gave by mistake or see a charge you did not authorize, write to hello@maranatha.com and we will look into it. You can also contact your card issuer.
• Your information. Your payment details are entered on Stripe's secure pages and never touch our servers. We receive your name, email and the amount from Stripe so that we can thank you and keep our records. We keep a record of each donation for our accounting and tax records, including after a request to delete your other data. See our privacy policy.

Processing fees on gifts to a church

Stripe charges standard processing fees. They are deducted by Stripe as described in the church's Stripe account. Maranatha does not add its own fee to gifts.

Recurring gifts to a church

If you choose a recurring gift, Stripe will charge you on the schedule you select until it is cancelled. To cancel or change a recurring gift, contact the church, or use the link in your gift confirmation email if one is provided.

Refunds of gifts to a church

Gifts are made to the church, and refunds are handled by the church. Contact the church directly. If you notice an unauthorized charge, contact your card issuer and the church.

Your information when you give to a church

Your payment details are entered on Stripe's secure pages and never touch our servers. We and the church receive your name, email, and the amount of your gift so that the church can thank you and keep records. See our privacy policy.
