Giving Terms

These terms apply when you give to a church through its Maranatha page.

Where your gift goes

Your gift goes to the church you select. Payments are processed by Stripe, and funds are paid to that church's own Stripe account. Maranatha never holds your donation. We do not take a percentage of gifts.

Maranatha is not a charity

Maranatha is a service of Aspir Technologies, a for-profit company. It is not a charity and does not accept donations. Maranatha does not issue tax receipts, and gifts made through Maranatha are not tax-deductible because of anything Maranatha does. Whether your gift is tax-deductible depends on the church you give to and the laws that apply to you. Only the church can issue a receipt, and only if it is eligible to do so. Please contact the church, or a tax professional, with questions.

Processing fees

Stripe charges standard processing fees. They are deducted by Stripe as described in the church's Stripe account. Maranatha does not add its own fee to gifts.

Recurring gifts

If you choose a recurring gift, Stripe will charge you on the schedule you select until it is cancelled. To cancel or change a recurring gift, contact the church, or use the link in your gift confirmation email if one is provided.

Refunds

Gifts are made to the church, and refunds are handled by the church. Contact the church directly. If you notice an unauthorized charge, contact your card issuer and the church.

Your information

Your payment details are entered on Stripe's secure pages and never touch our servers. We and the church receive your name, email, and the amount of your gift so that the church can thank you and keep records. See our privacy policy.
