How to pray

Praying for other people

One of the kindest things you can do for someone is pray for them by name.

Keep a short list of people and pray for them by name. Ask for specific things: health, peace, wisdom, faith, a good decision, a job, a restored relationship.

Pray for people who are hard to love. You will find that prayer changes your heart toward them, even before anything changes in them.

Use the prayer journal to write down requests and, later, to mark them answered. Looking back at answered prayer builds faith.

3I thank my God whenever I remember you, 4always in every request of mine on behalf of you all, making my requests with joy, 5for your partnership in furtherance of the Good News from the first day until now; 6being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
