Peace over worry (7 days)

Day 7 of 7: When I am afraid

Psalm 56:1-4; Psalm 94:17-19

Psalm 56:1-4

1For the Chief Musician. To the tune of “Silent Dove in Distant Lands.” A poem by David, when the Philistines seized him in Gath. Be merciful to me, God, for man wants to swallow me up. All day long, he attacks and oppresses me. 2My enemies want to swallow me up all day long, for they are many who fight proudly against me. 3When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. 4In God, I praise his word. In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?

Psalm 94:17-19

17Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul would have soon lived in silence. 18When I said, “My foot is slipping!” Your loving kindness, LORD, held me up. 19In the multitude of my thoughts within me, your comforts delight my soul.
